On Thursday, September 10, from 7 to 10 p.m., New Times' Pairings returns to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts for an evening of delicious food, good drink, live entertainment, cooking demos, and surprises. Last week, we highlighted the restaurants serving up delicious food. Favorite spots like El Jefe Luchador, Hardy Park Bistro, and Cafe Maxx will dish out delicious bites for your enjoyment.

Of course, great food is only half of the decadence at Pairings. The other half is the wine, beer, and cocktails each dish is paired with. We asked event wine curator, Andrew Lampasone from Wine Watch in Fort Lauderdale, for a preview of the wines being served at Pairings. Here's what you're going to drink — cheers!

Wines Served in General Admission

Concha Y Toro Winery - Marques de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
This is a great vintage for this wine. One hundred percent varietal with that signature peppery spice and coffee notes that Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon has with a good hand of currant and dark cherry fruit along with fresh earth, and nice complexity here on the nose. A very elegant style of Cabernet Sauvignon with nice complexity, an old world style with that rustic peppery spicey note from the nose through the finish along with fine herbs and earth through the finish.

Testarosa Winery - 2013 Testarossa Pinot Noir Cuvee Los Gatos Monterey County
Bright cherry and pommegranite like fruit with pretty floral notes and a host of exotic spices on the nose. Sweet and zesty on the tongue, silky smooth tannins with a good amount of those pretty floral highlights through the finish.

Terroir Life - Qupe Central Coast Syrah
This wine has a beautiful bouquet of dark plum and violet floral notes on the nose, very forward and seductive. A good amount of black plum and black berry fruit on the tongue with smooth silky tannins, notes of black licorice spice and violet notes on the finish. A very elegant style of Syrah.

Alma Wines -2009 Arbeta Merlot Langhe
The fruit coming from Monforte D'Alba and this wine sees some new oak, lots of red cherry and plum like fruit, perfumed vanilla spice and a bit of VA here. A very unique bouquet and taste.

Alma Wines -2009 Diomede Taurasi
A very distinct bouquet of smoked meats, wild flowers, herbs and sweet balsamic and dark cherry blackberry fruit. A very dense and chewy wine with a host of tannins here, that meaty gamey-like note from the nose lasting through the finish.

Giocato Sauvignon Blanc Slovenia 2014
Has a bit of green herbs, lemon and white grapefruit citrus and a briny minerally note. Clean and refreshing on the palate with a nice burst of mineralty at the end, leaves the tongue salivating for food, light and refreshing finish.

Brittany - Mar de Frades Albarino Rias Baixas 2014
Intense, bright and clean yellow with golden hues. Deep appealing macerated fruit (apricot, pineapple and passion fruit) with a wrapping background of balsamic notes. Powerful and fruity with good persistence and aromatic finish.

Davis Bynum Winery - Davis Bynum Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2013
The 2013 Davis Bynum Chardonnay has beautiful aromas of baked apple, citrus and white floral. On the palate, the wine opens up with brioche, lemon meringue and toasty baking spices, with a lush finish that is balanced with acidity and a rich creaminess.

Felipe Rutini Winery - Rutini Encuentro Chardonnay
A vibrant yellow Chardonnay, with perfect balance and crisp acidity. Well-structured and complex wine, with concentrated tropical fruit flavor and aromas is layered with vanilla and honey, a hint of minerals and a long, elegant finish.

Felipe Rutini Winery -Rutini Encuentro Malbec
A concentrated and intense granite red wine with violet hues. The vibrant nose with aromas typical of the varietal are harmonized with violet floral notes, and fresh red and black fruits. Full-bodied tannins and rich dark chocolate y marmalade fruit notes are present on the mouth. An Intense and complex Malbec with well-rounded acidity and a velvety finish.

Vinalba Winery -Vinalba 80/20 Malbec and Cabernet Franc 2013
Mendoza has become one of the most dynamic wine producing regions in the world with an enviable array of grape varieties, many of which are planted at high altitudes. The long summers mean the wines have wonderfully pure tasting fruit, and this Viñalba Malbec Cabernet Franc Reservado is an exceptional example of this. The wine is made to capture the beautiful purity of the grapes and get as much of that flavour as possible into the bottle. This wine has a complex nose of dark red fruits and spices with incredibly rich redcurrant and blackberry fruit flavours.

Boisset Family Estates -JCB No 21
Each JCB wine is known by a number. And each number has deep significance for Jean-Charles Boisset, the collection’s creator and namesake. The No. 21 Brut is crisp and bracing, and also has the tiniest bit of luminous creaminess.

2013 Byron Santa Barbara Pinot Noir
A very forward and seductive wine with pretty floral notes, hints of fresh earth and cherry fruit with a hint of spice, very forward and seductive. Smooth and silky on the tongue with a good hand of red berry fruit and that floral, earth and spice notes through the finish.

Beringer Quantum
IThe majority of fruit comes from vineyards along the valley floor, along with a smaller portion from Howell Mountain. The Merlot contributes round mouthfeel and soft tannins, Petite Sirah adds spice complexity and texture, and Petit Verdot lends dark, inky fruit notes and rich structure to the blend. The wines were aged in French oak (48% new barrels) for 15 months, and then in bottle for six months.
