When One Ninety Restaurant premiered on 46th Street in Buena Vista East some four years ago, it was the first hip, bohemian-style restaurant in the area. Locals flocked to the place for the carefree environment, live music, and tasty, affordable fare. Enter greedy landlords. Exit One Ninety.

Last month, after a two year absence, chef/owner Alan Hughes reopened One Ninety eight blocks north of the original spot (I’d be remiss not to mention that the restaurant now sits on a block that looks quite dodgy). Many of the old menu favorites have returned, like the classic steak frites, and there’s a slew of new items, too. “Same atmosphere, different location,” says Hughes, which means all sorts of live art, music, and happenings -- like Tango Thursdays at 10 p.m., Rebel Rock Saturdays at midnight. One Ninety is open Wednesdays through Sunday from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m., Bar and tapas served till 3 a.m. Happy Hour, daily from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., 26 NE 54th St., Miami; 305-758-7085. --Lee Klein
