Support the independent voice of South Florida and help keep the future of New Times free.
January 23 through 29 is South Florida Beer Week, a sudsy beerfest during which local haunts Funky Buddha, Tap 42, World of Beer, and Laser Wolf sponsor tap takeovers to celebrate local brews. The kickoff is a Monday night pig roast at Lou's Beer Garden. What about bacon?
I'm most excited for this breakfast beer, a porter created by the Funky Buddha guys a year ago, dubbed Wide Awake It's Morning, a concoction of coffee, maple, smoked malt, and yes, bacon. It's not
yet available at the brewery, but it'll be ready in time for the fest.
Don't miss the weekend events up in Jupiter either. On Friday night, there's a Field of Beer at Roger Dean Stadium and the Craft Brewers Festival and the After-Fest on Saturday. Click links to purchase tickets.

Keep New Times Broward-Palm Beach Free... Since we started New Times Broward-Palm Beach, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of South Florida, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
