Hopefully you made it to Beerfest over the weekend. If not, we're sorry. If so, not to be a buzzkill, but chances are the peak of your week has passed. However, that's not to say you can't find some food- or drink-related fun. We have this week's picks for the best things to do in Broward and Palm Beach counties after the jump.
Funky Buddha Brewery Snifter Club Sign Up and Open House
Not meaning to go back to Beerfest or anything, but in case you didn't know, the Funky Buddha Lounge killed it, winning the award for Best Overall. In preparation for the opening of the second location, the brewery will be hosting an open house and sign-up for its snifter and founders clubs, in which members pay a fee for extra perks at the lounge. And, of course, to celebrate the occasion, it will feature some new brews.
Trivia and Tito's
Who doesn't like trivia? Better question: Who doesn't like trivia while getting drunk? Today and every Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m., Lantana Jack's in Lake Worth hosts a trivia party with prizes for first, second, and third place. To help conjure the useless information, the bar offers $5 Tito's mixed drinks all night.
Game of Thrones Beer: Iron Throne Event
Whether you're obsessed with watching Games of Thrones or with craft beer, this might just tickle your fancy. From 7 to 9 p.m., Riverside Market will conduct a tasting of the newly released Ommegang Iron Throne Blonde Ale.
From 5 to 8 p.m., Hollywood's Art's Park will be overrun by food, wine, and networking galore. For 15 bucks, guests are invited to eat, drink, and check out this 18th-annual trade show. A Kidz Corner and Firehouse Cook Off Showdown will be included.
There's something kind of sexy about those Australians. If you're looking to get a taste of the Land Down Under, Wine Watch and Cafe Maxx are hosting an Australian winetasting. Taking place at Cafe Maxx at 6:30 p.m., the tasting is the kickoff to the winetasting series that will be held at the restaurant every other Wednesday until November. For 35 bucks, guests can taste wines and eat light bites prepared by executive chef Oliver Saucy. Call 954-782-0606 for reservations.
Charles Krug Winemaker Dinner
It's not often that big names from the wine industry make appearances in South Florida. Well, if you're looking to throw down some cash to be in the presence of a Mondavi and eat delicious food, of course, Morton's in West Palm Beach is hosting a five-course winemakers dinner at 6:30 pm. The $150 dinner is to benefit Make-a-Wish foundation. Click here for reservations.
Health Starts Here Entertaining
Entertaining can be hard. Entertaining with healthy food: even harder. If you're looking to put together something more imaginative than your average hummus and crudite, Whole Foods in Boca is holding a healthy entertaining course from 7 to 9 p.m. For five bucks, participants will learn how to prepare some easy and creative healthy dishes and drinks.
