South Florida Food and Drink Events This Week: Founders Launch, Full Moon, and More

It might be Monday, but it's also the first day back to school, so enjoy a schadenfreude as the kiddies drag themselves out of bed for the first time in months. The weekend may be over, but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop -- it's not like you have school in the morning.

Whether you're looking to try some newly launched -- in the state of Florida, anyway -- beer, eat your way around town, or learn something useful in your nonworking hours of the day, there are plenty of food and drink events in Broward and Palm Beach counties this week. Consume away!

Monday

Basic Salads and Vegetables

These days it's hard to know what you're eating unless you make everything yourself. Easy enough to say, but small things like salad dressings and mayo can be a bit of a pain. To help DIYers, Chef Jean Pierre's Cooking School is holding a salad and vegetable class that will go over basic dressings, emulsions, homemade mayo, and veggie 101. The two and a half hour class takes place Monday at 7:30 p.m. The cost to attend is $65.

Chef Jean-Pierre's Cooking School is located at 1436 Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-563-2700, or visit chefjeanpierre.com.
