South Florida Food and Drink Events This Week: Gay Days Welcome Party, Thanksgiving Day Dinner Cruise, and More

Around and around we go; today is the start to yet another lovely workweek. Hopefully, you have a bit of a spring in your step from some indulgent weekend activities. If not, don't fret; there are still plenty of events to keep you busy through your working days.

Whether you're looking for some new beers to sample at a tap takeover, want to know where the party will be on Thanksgiving Eve, or head to the first Gay Days welcome party in Fort Lauderdale, there's something to do in Broward and Palm Beach counties this week.

Tuesday

Gay Days Fort Lauderdale Welcome Party

Kick off the Gay Days Fort Lauderdale experience at the "Absolut-ly Fabulous Dance Party" following the city's Light Up the Beach event at Fort Lauderdale Beach's only ocean-view nightclub, Rock Bar. The party's co-sponsor (Absolut Vodka) will be on site distributing some schwag to all attendees from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., and the restaurant will be offering 2-4-1 drink specials all night. The famous Gay Days has added yet another city to its annual events line-up, now in three major cities including Orlando, Las Vegas, and Fort Lauderdale. Saltwater Brewing Tap Takeover at Riverside Market

You never need an excuse to visit Riverside Market in Fort Lauderdale, but this week we'll give you one more reason to go. On Tuesday, November 25, Saltwater Brewing will be having its very own tap takeover. You'll be able to try it all, from South End Session and Screemin Reels IPA -- and a few specialty brews made just for the event. You'll also have a chance to win a giftcard for some Saltwater schwag and beer.

Cabo Cares Fundraiser at Cabo Flats

On Wednesday, November 26, Cabo Flats in Palm Beach Gardens will host a charity event to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society from 3 to 7 p.m. A $15 suggested donation will include one complimentary drink, one free raffle ticket, and free chips, salsa, and guacamole with extended happy hour pricing to 7 p.m. Silent auction prizes include spa and hotel goodies, restaurant gift certificates, car detailing packages, golf for four, MedSpa treatments, and more. For this Cabo Cares event, all proceeds from the silent auction benefit local resident, Kelly Sudell, who is battling acute myeloid lymphoma; proceeds from the event will be used as a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Kelly's name.

Cocodrills Live at Il Bacio

It's one of the busiest night of the year to hit the town: Thanksgiving Eve. While restaurants everywhere will be offering deals on drinks and food, get the whole package with the party at Il Bacio in Delray Beach. Live entertainment will feature an opening set by Gio Black, followed by Miami Beach's Cocodrills. The restaurant will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving, but the party will be going all night long on Thanksgiving Eve when the bar honors its regular Thursday drink specials until midnight. That means ladies drink free (including beer, liquor, and wine), while guys get a deal with two-for-one drinks. Presale tickets are available now for $5. Thankgiving Day Dinner Cruise on Lady Windridge

Forget cooking at home. Forget the trip to grandma's house. Heck, even forget the fancy restaurant dinner. This Thanksgiving, gather your loved ones and escape to the water for a luxurious, stress-free holiday celebration on the stunning Lady Windridge in Fort Lauderdale. The yacht's Thanksgiving Day Dinner Cruise is launching on Thursday, November 27, where you can eat, drink, dance, and party the night away. The evening includes live music, passed hors d'oeuvres, a full Thanksgiving buffet dinner, and a decadent dessert bar, and unlimited bar packages are available.The onboard feast will include a farmer's garden crudité basket with roasted garlic, butternut, and pumpkin dips; a holiday harvest salad station; roasted turkey with herb stuffing, homemade gravy, and cranberry orange chutney; honey glazed ham with creamy dijon and peach mango sauce; sweet yams with brown sugar, butter, and honey reduction topped with toasted pecans; green bean casserole with mushrooms and fried onion straws; and Fontina mashed potatoes. The Lady Windridge Thanksgiving Day Dinner Cruise takes place Thursday, November 27, from 5-8 p.m.. Boarding starts at 4:30 p.m. at Tranquility Marina.
