Weekdays are the worst, unless you live in South Florida where we refuse to let a moment go by without cramming it full of entertainment.
Whether you're looking to relax and recover from the weekend, or would prefer to fill your weekday evening with distracting doings, there's something for you to do in Broward and Palm Beach counties this week.

Monday
Time to Roll!
Sushi has become the go-to food for those looking to keep it light when dining out of the house. The only problem: It's freaking expensive. Learn to do-it-yourself at Publix Aprons Cooking School Monday at 6 p.m. The hands-on class will explore a number of exotic maki roll. The cost to attend is $50 per person.
Subculture Coffee Grand Opening
If you've been biting your nails, waiting for a small batch coffee roaster to make its way into the confines of Broward and Palm Beach Counties (aside from the very awesome Oceana Coffee Roasters in Tequesta), it's time to give those finger tips a break. On Monday at 7 a.m., Subculture Coffee is opening its doors with its house roasted artisanal coffees. The shop will be welcoming guests from 7 a.m. to Midnight. Visit facebook.com/subculturecoffee.
Monthly BYOB Dinner
Seeking out other foodies to hang with can be a trying endeavor. Rather than come off as a creeper while trying to find friends in the cheese section of Whole Foods, why not head to monthly food club dinner at Le Bistro in Lighthouse Point. Monday at 7 p.m., the restaurant is hosting a four-course dinner with a table full of likeminded gourmands. The cost to attend is $50, plus a bottle of wine of your choice. Call for reservations ASAP, 954-946-9240.
Tuesday
Wine Lovers Network Happy Hour
It may not be hump-day, but sometimes you just need to socialize -- and drink wine -- on a Tuesday. From 6 to 8 p.m., N2 Winebar is hosting a winos happy hour with LivingFLA.com and TheGourmetClub.com. For $10, guests will receive a wine card to sample tastings from the Enomatic wine system, plus 20 percent off the check, if you chose to buy more wine or food. Visit events.r20.constantcontact.com/register to RSVP. Reservations are required.
One of Our Best Chicken Classes Yet
When it comes to eating meat, there's one animal protein most of us (aside from the vegos) can agree on. As simple as it may seem to prepare, we've all had a terribly dry, flavorless chicken experience. Learn how to cook it the right way at Chef Jean Pierre Cooking School on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. For $68 per person, guests will get to watch and sample three delectable chicken recipes. Visit chefjeanpierre.com.
Mardi Gras Parade
Grocery shopping is not exactly exciting -- unless, of course, there's also a party during the excursion. On Tuesday at 11 a.m., Whole Foods Market in Fort Lauderdale is hosting a Mardi Gras Parade throughout the store. Decorated carts will be pushed around to the sounds of zydeco and Cajun music in the background. It's the perfect way to multitask on a workday. Visit wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/fortlauderdale.
Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday
While everyone up in NOLA is partying it up for Fat Tuesday, we're down here dealing with the same old things. Starting at 10 p.m., America's Backyard is hosting a party to get locals -- and tourists -- in the Cajun spirit. The evening includes all-you-can-drink for just $20 and $5 frozen drinks. Visit myamericasbackyard.com.
Wednesday
Sam Adams Hosts The Return of Beer Bingo
While it's mostly associated with retirement homes, Bingo is an awesome way to pass the time, especially when beer is involved. Starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Riverside Market is brining back is drunken bingo with Sam Adams. Five bucks buys the first card, each additional one is just $2. The game will take place on the first Wednesday of every month. Make sure to call ahead, as it tends to fill up quickly. Visit facebook.com/events.
The Cheese Course Favorites
The only better than cheese is free cheese. On Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., the Cheese Course Plantation staff will be offering guests samples of their favorite cheeses matched with perfect wines. Selections include Fromager d'Affinios, Comte, Midnight Moon, Prima Donna, and Manchego. Visit thecheesecourse.com.
Thursday
Nib Smuggler Milk Chocolate Porter Bottle Release
The time to celebrate some of Broward's best brew has come again. Funky Buddha Brewery is hosting another bottle release for its Nib Smuggler Milk Chocolate Porter on Thursday at 6 p.m. With just 700 bottles, the brewery will be selling one per customer for $12 apiece. To honor the release, the brewery will be tapping a number of other special brews (including the Nib Smuggler) throughout the evening. Best French Fries, Batter Co. & Cupcake, and more will be onsite with food. Visit funkybuddhabrewery.com/news-and-events/blog/nib-smuggler-bottle-release.
