Monday

Labor Day Party With Fourth Dimension

If you're smart -- and we think you are -- you're going to be spending your Labor Day at the beach. Chances are if you're sober enough to stay out, you're not going to be traveling too far. Keep it local with South Florida reggae band Fourth Dimension at Sandbar Monday night. The music starts at 9 p.m.

Sandbar is located at 900 Sunrise Lane in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-990-7578, or visit sandbarfortlauderdale.com.

Tuesday

Taco Tuesday

You probably blew the bank over the long weekend -- and there's a good chance you'll be feeling pretty lazy by the time Tuesday rolls around. Cheap some cheap tacos at a number of local places. Check out Tin Fish in West Palm Beach, or T-Mex Cantina in Fort Lauderdale. Wednesday

Cheese-A-Rama

Cheese tastes good in everything -- cake, donuts, bagels, sandwiches, pizza, whatever -- the more the better. On Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., New York Grilled Cheese is hosting Cheese-A-Rama to benefit the Smart Ride. Hosted by drag queens Daisy Deadpetals and Nicole Halliwell, the event will feature plenty of grilled cheese, a silent auction, raffle prizes, and more.

New York Grilled Cheese is located at 2207 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors. Call 954-564-6887, or visit newyorkgrilledcheese.com.

Sushi Wednesday

Few restaurant foods are actually healthy. Sushi is. The only problem: it can be freaking expensive. Not at American Social on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Men get unlimited regular sushi for $19.95, ladies get it for $14.95. Individual rolls are just 6 bucks.

American Social is located at 721 E. Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954- 764-7005, or visit americansocialbar.com.

Vegan Delights

Being a healthy vegan is hard work -- and it certainly doesn't stimulate the taste-buds if you don't know how to cook. On Wednesday afternoon from 1 to 2 p.m., Whole Foods Market Boca is teaching wannabe vegan cooks how to do it properly. The cost to attend is $10.

Whole Foods is located at 1400 Glades Road in Boca Raton. Call 561-447-0000, or visit wholefoodsmarket.com.

Thursday

Michelle Bernstein Cooking Course

We dare you to find someone in South Florida who doesn't adore Michelle Bernstein. The much beloved South Florida chef, restaurateur, and host of Check, Please! is teaching a cooking class to amateur aspiring chefs on Thursday. At Publix Apron's Cooking School at 6:30 p.m., Bernstein will be live and in the flesh. The cost to attend is $60 per person.

Gourmet Truck Expo at Miramar Square Mall

Get your eat on in Miramar on Thursday night. From 6 to 10 p.m., at Miramar Square Mall the food trucks are taking over the parking lot with tons of food options (obviously), live DJ, balloon artist for the kiddies, local business vendors, and more. The roundup is free to attend.

Miramar Square Mall is located at 12162 Miramar Parkway in Miramar.

Benziger Family Wine Tasting

Wines differ dramatically from region to region. Heck, they can have flavor profiles that are worlds apart even in the same town. To really get the feel for a winery, you need to check out more than just a wine or two. On Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Rustic Cellar that's exactly what they plan to do. For $30 per person, guests can taste their way through the Benzinger wine portfolio with rep. Josh Young.

The Rustic Cellar is located at 409 Southeast Mizner Blvd. in Boca Raton. Call 561-392-5237, or visit rusticcellar.com.

The Soulcial

Most people have been to a social; you know, one of those boring networking events that forces you to engage in mindless chitchat. This is the exact opposite. The soulcial hosted by Ingrid B is all about bringing back the soul to dining. Starting at 8 p.m. at Piano, the event features live soul music while you dine. Admission is free with RSVP.

Piano is located at 5805 SW 57th Way in Hollywood. Call 954-792-8722, or visit pianohollywood.com.
