Weekdays are the worst, unless you live in South Florida, where we refuse to let a moment go by without cramming it full of entertainment.

Whether you're looking to relax and recover from the weekend or would prefer to fill your weekday evening with distracting goings-on, there's something for you to do in Broward and Palm Beach counties this week.

Monday

Spring Beer & Cheese Pairing

If you're a Broward County beer lover, you must love Funky Buddha Brewery. Oakland Park's favorite brewery is teaming up with Vermont Farmstead Cheese Co. for a cheese and beer pairing on Monday at 7 p.m. Just $20 gets samples of good cheese and some special-release beers. Visit funkybuddhabrewery.com/blog.

Tuesday

Dim Sum Desserts

When it comes to cooking, desserts tend to be the hardest part -- unless you pick something up, of course. On Tuesday at 6 p.m., Publix Aprons Cooking School is offering a dim sum dessert class; it will go over American flavors with a Chinese twist. The hands-on class is $40. Visit publix.com/aprons/schools/Plantation.

Ommegang Game of Thrones "Fire and Blood" Release!

Game of Thrones might be underway on HBO, but the beer has yet to be discovered (or sampled) by most of us. All day long on Tuesday, World of Beer Coconut Creek is going to be offering Ommegang's third beer brewed in collaboration with the popular show. Visit wobusa.com/locations/Coconut-Creek.

$4 Tuesday

While the flavor is obviously superb, a lot of people complain about the price tag of craft brew. Well, there's no need to worry about the wallet on Tuesdays at American Social Bar & Restaurant. The bar offers a large selection of craft beer for just four bucks apiece. Boom, beer problem solved.

Wednesday

Planting an Herb Garden

We're always hearing about how we should be growing our own food. Sounds fair enough, if you know how to actually make something grow. This Wednesday at 7 p.m., Farmer Jay and Whole Foods Market in Plantation are getting together for a DIY herb garden course. Jay will be going through the basics of keeping a healthy, thriving garden of herbs -- not a dried-out black mess of dirt. The cost to attend is $15. Visit facebook.com/events.

TruckStop: a Benefit for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

If you like fancy cars, good food, and helping out a good cause, TruckStop is the event for you. Taking place at Palm Beach Motor Cars, it includes festive libations, fare from some of the best food trucks South Florida has to offer, and plenty of luxury cars (think Jaguars and Aston Martins). The event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. All of the proceeds benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The cost to attend is $100. Palm Beach Motor Cars is located at 915 S. Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach. Visit mwoy.org/pages/pb/pbc14/adunstan.

Chardonnay Around the World

Life is like a metaphor for like. You can take the same grape and expose it to different levels of sunlight, rain, climate zones, and soil types and you'll have completely disparate results. Your chance to explore the contrastive world of wine is here on Wednesday. At 6:30 p.m., Cafe Maxx will be pouring eight different Chardonnays from around the world to examine and evaluate the differences among the wines. Chef Oliver Saucy will be sending out a few light bites to go along. The cost to attend is $35. Registration is required, and seats fill up quickly; reserve ASAP. Visit cafemaxx.com.

Whole Wedding

With spring comes wedding season. That's right. Everyone you know is getting hitched and you're expected to come along. To help brides -- and help you single spinsters see the bright side of it -- Whole Foods Market in Boca Raton is hosting a whole wedding expo on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. The free event will feature everything you'll need to make your wedding complete, including: cakes, floral arrangements, live music, cosmetics, various food and catering options and a raffle for one $200 in-store credit for brides or grooms that register at the event. If you're not getting married yourself, you can just seek out the samples. Visit wholefoodsmarket.com.

Thursday

Women + Wine: A Celebration of Women Winemakers

Like it or not, the world is dominated by men. This event, however, is all about celebrating the portion of the population with two x chromosomes. From 6 to 8 p.m., Savor Tonight and Bocce Wine Bar and Tapas are getting together to host the first women and wine event, which aims to bring together wine-loving ladies to enjoy wine made by women. It includes four wines paired with bites prepared by executive chef Wade Owens. The cost to attend is $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Visit facebook.com/events.

Outstanding French Dinner

French chefs are hailed as some of the best in the world -- that may not adhere to our idea of American exceptionalism, but hey, they perfected gourmet fare. If you're looking to improve your culinary skills, here's your chance to learn to cook like the French, on Thursday at Chef Jean-Pierre's Cooking School. For $70 per person, learn to make classic dishes from the place it all started. Visit chefjeanpierre.com.
