There was a time before the microbrewery boom where if you were a vegan drinker, you had few options outside of Beck's. With many beer companies sticking honey or lactose in their flavorings or finings that use gelatin, egg albumin, or fish, finding cruelty-free drinks can be as difficult as scoring a decent veggie burger at your local watering hole (freaking impossible, right?).
Because obsessive label reading gets increasingly difficult with beer goggles on, it's really nice that a place like Sublime has taken all of the guesswork out of it for you. This Thursday, the vegan restaurant will host a craft beer night to showcase some of the best brews for ethically minded folks.
Sublime teamed up with Brown Distributing to select a sampling of some of the best microbreweries out there. Sample a dozen different beers that will be paired with Sublime's house-made kettle chips and pretzel bites. After the tasting, guests can enjoy a 15 percent discount off of their dining checks.
The tasting runs from 6 to 8 p.m. October 20. Tickets cost $15. Call 954-615-1431, or visit here for more info. Sublime is located at 1431 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale.
