Every years Father's Day rolls around and the question arises: what to get the dad in your life? This year, why not give the guy something he could really use -- like, say, tickets to a craft beer festival.
The best way to celebrate Father's Day weekend this June would be a few tickets to the third annual Craft Beer, Cider & Burger Bash taking place June 14 at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. Over 70 beers and ciders will be on tap, as well as an official burger tasting from a number of area establishments.
While sampling beer and cider, dozens of booths will be offering free sliders as they compete for the title of Palm Beach's "2014 King of All Burgers" against reigning champion Chuck Burger Joint of Palm Beach Gardens, which took the top prize two years in a row. Bash attendees will choose their favorites and vote in three categories, including "Best Burger," "Most Innovative Burger," and "Best Non-Beef Burger."
This year, PGA National has partnered with Brown Distributing, Creekstone Farms, Yelp, Localdines.com -- as well as local radio stations including WILD 95.5 FM and Gator 98.7 FM -- to organize this event. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit DreamRide and Special Olympics Florida. DreamRide, founded in 2001, organizes events to celebrate the achievements of Special Olympics athletes, and raises awareness and much-needed funds for people living with intellectual disabilities while inspiring communities across the nation to embrace diversity.
The event will be followed by an outdoor concert on the PGA National green from 5-7 p.m. featuring Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett, accompanied by the New Orleans Suspects. Additional live entertainment will include local acts like Jason Cardinal from noon to 2 p.m., and The Kinected from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Craft Beer & Burger Bash will take place on Saturday, June 14 from noon to 4 p.m. at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens.
