Beer news is upon us once again, and there is nothing you can do about it. So shut your face, put that cold bottle of IPA to your lips, and let's get started.

J. Wakefield Brewing Reaches CrowdBrewed Goal in One Day
Last week J. Wakefield Brewing Company launched its CrowdBrewed campaign (like Kickstarter but for breweries) and reached its goal of $55,000 in just over 26 hours, and it's still counting. Johnathan Wakefield still has 37 days left of his campaign, and he's reached almost $100k. From this, he plans to build a brewery somewhere in Miami.
Beer Goggles Make You Think You're Good-Looking
We all know that drinking can make the unattractive look appealing, but researchers discovered that it goes both ways -- that beer goggles make you think you're attractive. This conclusion was unveiled at this years Ig Nobel awards, which are given every year to people who come up with insane but scientific research ideas.
Doctors Find Brewery in Texas Man's Gut
This is pretty whack but apparently true. A 61-year-old man in Texas went to the emergency room one night complaining of dizziness and, suspecting that he was drunk, the nurses ran a Breathalyzer test on him. Sure enough, he was drunk, with a 0.37 blood alcohol concentration. But the weird thing was is that he hadn't drunk all day. After doing some tests, it turns out that the man is able to convert carbohydrates into alcohol -- in his stomach. He was infected with Saccharomyces cerevisiae -- a species of yeast -- which essentially acted like a brewery inside the man's body.
Old Style Beer Forced Out of Wrigley Field
In a new deal between the Cubs and Anheuser-Busch, the brewing company will become the team's new official beer and will hold exclusive rights as beer vendor at Wrigley Field. This not good news for Old Style, which as been sold at the baseball stadium for the past 63 years. The beer, which is owned by Pabst Blue Ribbon, launched a petition to keep it there. It's a bit ironic to have A-B become the Cub's official beer since it comes from a city that's home to the team's archrivals, the St. Louis Cardinals.
Biscayne Brewing Company Comes to Miami
Barely a week since Wynwood Brewing announced their official launch and J. Wakefield Brewing's CrowdBrewed success, Biscayne Brewing Company is apparently almost ready to open a location in Doral, as well as a possible brewpub in the Little Havana/West Brickell area. Owned by staffers for former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, Gus Chacon and Jose Mallea hope to have the brewery operational before the end of the year.
