The food truck trend keeps on, well, truckin', in South Florida, where the food-on-the-go options seem to grow by the week. Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood has thrown its hat in the circle, hosting a weekly film and food truck gathering every Thursday this summer.

The Summer Movie Series includes

screenings of films chosen by the casino's Facebook fans (we hear this week's is Men in Black),

and a rally featuring roughly 20 gourmet trucks. Film screenings are at

8 p.m. and the grub will be available 5:30 to 10 p.m. Choices include

food truck mainstays like tacos, sugary sweet treats and plenty of

grilled meats, with prices ranging from $8 to $15.

Keep New Times Broward-Palm Beach Free... Since we started New Times Broward-Palm Beach, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of South Florida, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
