Support the independent voice of South Florida and help keep the future of New Times free.
"Hmmm, I seem to have developed amnesia. Who am I? And where did this egg come from?"
Since people haven't been able to properly name our WTF is it?!? item for a few weeks now, I thought we would go with a food item nearly guaranteed to be identified. I mean, this one is easy. Too easy. And to boot, if you correctly guess what this bad boy is we'll give you a $20 gift certificate to the Lauderdale landmark, the Downtowner Saloon. Not too shabby folks. FYI - they do not serve this item there, however.
So for clarity's sake, the egg is in the pic for scale. And here's an additional hint: It's in season now. The object in question is bright yellow, as you can see, and resembles a melon or gourd. Which is it? I dunno. You tell me.
Good luck!
