Fans of ye olde yak meat, rejoice. All two of you will be delighted to hear that 'tis the season for a yak burger barbecue, to be held December 7 at the Milagro Center of Delray Beach (101 SE Second Ave., 561-963-0336). The idea behind the yak drive is twofold: To help introduce this lean, nongreasy meat, currently in lead position on Chef Johnny V's tantalizing De la Tierra at Sundy House menu, and to highlight the Milagro Center, an amazing place that provides intense programs in the arts, cultural identity education, and catchup, individually stylized tutoring for the community's underprivileged kids. Proceeds from the $10 tickets, which garner you a burger, chips, salad, and drink, will benefit the center, a philanthropic concern of Dharma Properties, which also owns Sundy House. This is one case where one hand can wash the other while holding a yak burger at the same time.
