Bacon, music, beer, and — well, did we mention bacon? On Friday, Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale and Covenant House Florida will host the inaugural Bacon Bash 2014 at Esplanade Park. Entrance to the event is free, but be sure to have cash on had to sample bacon-based and bacon-infused dishes.
Bacon lovers of all ages are welcome to sample the bacon-inspired dishes for just $5 per plate from restaurants and food trucks, including the Daily Melt, Grille 401, Insane Cookies, Legends BBQ, M.E.A.T. Eatery & Taproom, Nacho Business, OB House, Public House, Rhino Donuts, Rok:Brgr, World Fusion Cuisine, Red Cow, New River Grill, and Miami Smokers. Adults 21 years of age and over can also purchase passes to an onsite biergarten, where they can have unlimited samples of an array of specialty and craft beers sponsored by Stephens Distributing and Sheehan Buick GMC.
All proceeds from the event will go to benefit Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale and Covenant House Florida. Live music will be provided by DayBreak Embrace with DJ Two Story Lori.
Bacon Bash 2014 will take place Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. at Esplanade Park (400 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale). Entry passes will be available at the door the day of the event for $25.
