“The Kid” will coach the kids at Palm Beach Atlantic University, which makes a good excuse to post this totally 1980s Newsday promo from Gary Carter’s days with the Amazin’ Mets.

After the jump, the other video Carter made in 1986, warning kids about the dangers of drugs at a time when his teammates Darryl Strawberry and Doc Gooden were knee-deep in coke.
