If you haven’t paid a visit to the nexus of Southern Broward art that is the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, this Sunday grants you that opportunity. On this day, as with every third Sunday of the month, the forward-thinking gallery and performance space waives its $7 admission fee and opens its doors gratis. Visitors are allowed to wander the charming and historic (circa 1924) locale — once known as the Kagey Mansion — and get a taste of all the thought-provoking contemporary art on the gallery’s walls. Not to be missed is “Echos Myron,” an art and music amalgamation of an exhibit that features notable local musicians’ cross section of work, including sculpture, painting, flier art, photographs, and installations. Also on display and worth checking out is “Monica Uszerowicz: It’s Okay to Cry.” This photography exhibit from local writer Uszerowicz (who, in the interest of full disclosure, is also a New Times contributor) taps into the Carl Jungian collective unconscious by presenting everyday subjects in an enlightening introspective nature.
