It didn’t take long for the tweets to start rolling in.

Weston, which has the highest percentage of Venezuelans of any Florida municipality besides Doral, rejoiced at the news of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez’s death. He reportedly died of infection.

Across Broward County, the number of Venezuelans has more than doubled in the past decade, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

But it’s in Weston where that effect has been most profound — earning the community the nickname “Westonzuela.” The city boasts more than a half-dozen Venezuelan bakeries — and most gas stations carry arepas.

As such, Chavez died, and Twitter spoke.
