This Thursday, New Times‘ seventh-annual Pairings event returns to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts with an astounding lineup of restaurants. Some of the hottest dining spots in South Florida, including Fork and Balls, YOLO, S3, 3030 Ocean, and Chima Brazilian Steakhouse, will serve their best dishes. From 7 to 10 p.m. you can sample food by some of South Florida’s most lauded restaurants, each paired with wines or craft beers. The city’s best wine boutique, Wine Watch, will curate each pairing, and the featured beers are from Anheuser-Busch’s craft-beer portfolio that includes Goose Island and Johnny Appleseed hard cider. More of a spirits person? Botran Rum, Jack Daniels, Herradura Tequila, and Stoli Vodka will offer their finest selections.
The best part is that it’s all for a good cause. This year, New Times is proud to announce its first-time partnership with Share Our Strength, a nonprofit that works to raise awareness of childhood hunger in America. Restaurants participating in the Pairings event will be a part of the movement that brings food to the mouths of low-income children in Florida with the donation of leftover food to the organization at the end of the evening. In addition, all of the proceeds raised during the Tree of Abundance onsite fundraiser will be given to the charity and will include prizes for participating guests.
New Times‘ Pairings takes place Thursday at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets cost $40 for general admission, $75 for VIP, which includes early admittance at 6 p.m. and access to the special VIP lounge. The event is limited to those 21 and over. To buy tickets, visit browardcenter.org, or call the Broward Center’s AutoNation box office at 954-462-0222.

Thu., Sept. 18, 7-10 p.m., 2014
