Since dropping out of the Nighthawks in 1987, unable to take the strain of their admittedly ludicrous 300-night-a-year touring schedule, Jimmy Thackery has offered hard-driving blues rock that appeals to fans of everyone from Stevie Ray Vaughan to Muddy Waters to Bruce Springsteen. His guitar work is on par with the current crop of young blues ax-slingers such as Jonny Lang, except that Thackery adds years of experience and maturity. Supported by the tight rhythm section of bassist Michael Patrick and drummer Mark Stutso, Thackery is able to take blues riffing to far-reaching heights and does so night after night in shows that usually run well into the wee hours.
