Heads up, people that commute the East Las Olas Boulevard Bridge.

Due to construction, the bridge will be closed Thursday night to Friday morning.

So you may want to take the detour, or find another route if you travel through and around Ft. Lauderdale beach.

The East Las Olas Boulevard Bridge will be closed from 9:00 p.m. Thursday until 7:00 a.m. Friday, officials said.

According to Florida's Department of Transportation, workers need to pour concrete on the northwest side of the bridge.

It's all about the $5.8 million reclamation project that includes installing new pedestrian railings, traffic railings, aluminum sidewalks, and reconstructing the concrete decks, among other things.

In other words, a whole new bridge! (Basically)

Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Sunrise Boulevard via U.S. 1 and all westbound traffic will be detoured to Sunrise Boulevard via A1A.

You can view a map of the detour here.
