A 20-year-old man from Fort Lauderdale has been arrested and charged in the beating death of Rood Marc Desronvil on May 18 at the Normandy Village apartment complex in Lauderdale Lakes.

Late that afternoon, Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call of a large disturbance in the Normandy Village parking lot. They arrived to find the 21-year-old Desronvil lying on the ground unconscious. Witnesses reported that he'd been involved in an altercation and that he'd been struck from behind by a man identified as Michael George. George then allegedly stomped on Desronvil's head. On May 22, Desronvil died from his injuries.

George is charged with second-degree murder. BSO release is here.
