There have been more than a few scary things going on at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Gun shows, craft shows, and hundreds of carnies could scare just about any sane, unarmed person. But starting at 6 tonight, the fairgrounds are getting even scarier. Fright Nights is back with three new huge haunted houses. They feature terrifying themes like inbreeding (“Next of Kin” house), child abuse that leads to serial murder (“Origins” house), and the difficulty of getting medical attention in Pittsburgh (“Malpractice” house). If you can’t handle people jumping out at you in the dark with chainsaws, or if you plan on bringing younger children to Fright Nights, stick to the carnival rides and Spookyville, a haunted trick-or-treat trail designed for children under 12. Tickets start at $10 if you purchase in advance. Visit southfloridafair.com, or call 561-793-0333.
