Did we mention that we're excited about Record Store Day? Like really excited?! Thought so. As you probably already know, since 2008, musicians in support of this very sacred occasion put out some very special releases to encourage people to buy actual products in independent music stores. Of course, Napster-haters Metallica kicked this shit off five years back. We must agree, the feel of vinyl in our palms in better than the visual of music downloading.

Given that the point of the day is to stimulate local commerce and to love on music, we hit up Radio-Active Records' Mikey Ramirez to ask him which RSD releases he's most looking forward to purchasing.

Afrika Bambaataa/MC5
"Kick Out The Jams"
These electro funkers do up an old favorite on one side, and then there's the old favorite on the other. Purchasable in 7-inch white with red splatter vinyl.

Miles Davis
Forever Miles
This 12-inch LP puts five important Davis performances from three decades out into the world on vinyl for the first time. Sacred stuff.

Public Image Limited
One Drop
This 12-inch EP offers the first new PiL material released in 20 years. Wowzers.

Lee Scratch Perry
Blackboard Jungle Dub
This 1973 dubtastic reggae classic was remastered and is being released as a yellow, red, and green vinyl box set.

ESG
"Erase You"
Fire Records is releasing this all woman pump-you-up ESG favorite. Will induce serious dance grrrl power feelings.

GG Allin
Violence Now
Three hundred copies of this song that's been out of print since '92 are being pressed on brown vinyl. It's been remastered, and liner notes feature GG's original handwritten lyrics according to RecordStoreDay.com.
