An Alternative Friday Night at the Movies

Palm Beach’s Society of the Four Arts pretty much has all corners covered, what with exhibitions in art, lecture series, live concerts, classes, and an active learning library. Heck, the Four Arts even screens live performances of the Metropolitan Opera in HD. One of the center’s traditions is a Friday film series that shows the kind of movies you definitely couldn’t go see at a typical theater. The films are contemporary, often international, and always very arts and culture-centered. All films are shown in the Walter S. Gubelmann Auditorium at the Society of the Four Arts (4 Four Arts Plaza, Palm Beach). Showtimes are 2:30, 5:15, and 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the door immediately before the show. Admission costs $5 or is free for members. Call 561-655-7227, or visit
Fridays, 2:30, 5:15 & 8 p.m. Starts: Jan. 4. Continues through Jan. 3, 2013
