While Coral Springs doesn't seem like the epicenter of alternative lifestyles, that's where you'll find the 17th Annual South Florida Tattoo Expo. Back for another year, the celebration of all things body modification returns to the Coral Springs Marriott on Friday, August 10. The three-day extravaganza features over 50 artists, live tattooing, and an assortment of vendors catering to the likes of body piercing and tattoo culture. Throughout the course of the weekend, a slew of bands take the stage such as Skinny Jimmy and the Stingrays, the Cadillac Creeps, Slip and the Spinouts, and the Darling Sweets. There will also be special performances from Morgan LaRue's Shimmy Shake Revue, fetish shows by Electrolust Hollywood, and live suspension by Skin Mechanic. Folks, this is not for the faint of heart. Coral Springs Marriott is located at 11777 Heron Bay Blvd. in Coral Springs. The expo hours are noon to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $20 per day, or $40 for a 3-day pass. Tickets can only be purchased at the door. Anyone under 16 must be with an adult. Call 954-753-5598, or visit floridatattooexpo.com.
