Next time you truly want to get to know someone, asking which character in the Rocky Horror Picture Show the person relates to the most can save you hours of layer peeling. Dr. Frank-N-Furter? They will be the conniving, self-obsessed, Mommie Dearest type that's best to avoid. Janet Weiss? They have a totally unassuming vanilla exterior with a hidden urge for the sexually deviant, fun! But Riff Raff? Riff Raff is the best personality type. Anyone willing to strap on a back hump and engage in a handyman part just to be involved is a definite keeper. If your potential boo knows the flick, then he's also following in the footsteps of some pretty awesome folks, including Rocky Horror Show original creator Richard O'Brien. That's right; before Hollywood got its hands on the screenplay, RHS was a musical that O'Brien created out of desperation after he was unceremoniously let go from a Jesus Christ Superstar play. Tonight, O'Brien's tradition continues as Slow Burn Theatre Company presents the Rocky Horror Show at the West Boca Performing Arts Theatre (12811 W. Glades Road, Boca Raton). Showtime is 8 p.m. More shows are scheduled for Saturday and again on Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th. Call 866-811-4111, or visit slowburntheatre.com. Tickets cost $20 for students, $35 for adults.
