Burgeoning Talent

A venue well-known for featuring the artwork of regionally, nationally, and internationally recognized and emerging artists, the Vargas Gallery of the Vargas University Department of Art is hosting the "2014 South Florida Group Exhibition" to honor 16 artists who demonstrate their love of art through every little thing they do. Featuring artists who have explored their experiences and impressions of South Florida through painting, mixed media, sculpture, and more, the exhibit will celebrate each artist's local influences and expertise using various techniques. Participating are artists Allison Kotzig, Andrea Huffman, Brandy Lynn Magill, Bryan Hiveley, Christina Ernst, Cory Hunter, Esmeilyn Tejeda, José Herazo-Osorio, Jose Riera, Judith Berk King, Laelanie Larach, Liliana Botero, Lynda De Vita, Michelle Martinez, Mileydis Llanos, and Tom De Vita. Beaming with so much talent, the Vargas Gallery is just one of many examples of how the South Florida art community is flourishing. Join the gallery at its exhibition opening on Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. at 10131 Pines Blvd. in Pembroke Pines. Admission is free. Call 954-322-4460, or email galley@jmvu.edu.
