But… It’s My Knots that Keep me Upright!

Remember a couple years ago when the only reasons you’d be caught downtown on a Saturday morning involved a.) tequila shots, b.) some bartender’s efficiency, and c.) a blindingly painful walk of shame? Well, you’ve changed a bit.

Nowadays, “throwing down” involves a yoga mat, a bottle of water, and an entire hour of detoxification through sweating. Don’t view this as aging; view it as evolving. And should said yoga class happen to be free? Well, then you’ve truly discovered bliss. Head downtown to Riverwalk’s Esplanade Park at 10 a.m. — that’s where you can get your chakras in a wad over yoga served up gratis. It happens every Saturday, so consider it your weekly reward for waking up soberish — and in your own bed.

Esplanade Park is located at 20 N. New River Dr. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-468-1541, or visit goriverwalk.com. JAMIE LAUGHLIN
Saturdays, 10 a.m.; Sat., Jan. 23, 10 a.m. Starts: Aug. 8. Continues through May 1, 2009
