Helping Out Hosker

South Florida musician Dan Hosker was in a highway accident in May, leaving him in critical condition. His bandmates, friends, and local scene supporters are working to give Hosker the support he needs with several benefit shows. On Saturday, there’s a special benefit hosted by Lori O’Quinn, of Boise Bob & His Backyard Band notoriety and a close friend of Hosker’s, at the Play by Play Sports Bar (440 S. Cypress Road, Pompano Beach). Performing live is Nightly Death Shade, the Bikes with Boise Bob, Charlie Pickett, Billy Vazquez, and more. Throughout the night, attendees can win raffle prizes including tattoo gift certificates, custom skate decks, record store and band merch, vintage toys, and a special 12-string guitar. The event begins at 8 p.m., and admission is by donation. For more info, contact Jessica Kross at JesRed@comcast.net.
