Hot Shots already prides itself on being a premier sports bar: It one-ups every other bar’s pool tables by having 20 in its space, plus table tennis. And now it’s added something unique to its weekly repertoire: “Latin Night,” AKA “Noche Latino Caliente.” If it seems a little out of place at a sports bar, you are incorrect: All that space does double duty as a dance floor, and the music benefits from the football-game-worthy sound system. Cumbia, salsa, merengue, bachata: All of it is live and all of it blasting. Latin Night already boasts noteworthy acts under its belt, like Jenny Love, a performer who’s shared the stage with the likes of Arturo Sandoval, Bobby McFerrin, and Gloria Estefan — and can list her day job as Billboard Latino’s House Band musical director. There’s never a cover charge: Just take your pick from the full liquor bar and get to grooving.

Latin Night is from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. every Thursday at Hot Shots (3868 N. University Drive, Sunrise), with most sets starting at 9:30 p.m. Call 954-748-4232, or visit hotshotsbar.com.
