There are three countdown clocks -- three! -- counting down the time for when the Festival of Chocolate enters the southern half of Florida on its website. This is how badly people here need their chocolate fix. The shebang first arrives in West Palm Beach on Saturday before heading over to Tampa, then Orlando. For such a festival called the Festival of Chocolate, the entire innards of Palm Beach County Convention Center -- that's 50,000 square feet -- will be shrouded with chocolate: truffles to cakes; name it, if it's sweet, it's there.

Chocoholics start out at an early age, bless their little hearts, bless us all who have maintained such an addiction well into adulthood. Kids get to create their own masterpieces that they can eat -- sandcastles, you cannot beat that. There will be competitions for them to show their sweet strengths. Everyone throw on a chocolate mustache, play Brownie Bingo (yes, you eat the pieces), make chocolate lip balm or chocolate playdough (your age will probably aid in which one you choose.) There will be sculptures of chocolate! A human will carve a Fiat out of chocolate. A friggin' chocolate car. It costs $12 for adults, $8 for rugrats. Call 561-463-2950, or visit festivalofchocolate.com.
