Long Live the Queen

The late Freddie Mercury was one of the most charismatic figures in rock history. He had a stage presence that was unrivaled, infusing Queen's live shows with fevered energy. Since his passing, the next best thing to seeing his live performance is One Night of Queen. Singer Gary Mullen and his band The Works pull all of the stops to deliver a rock ΄n’ roll tribute that would make Freddie proud.

Focusing mostly on ΄80s era Queen, the show takes painstaking efforts to recreate the original experience, down to lighting rigs and stage set-up. Mullen, an impersonator that once won a Glasgow reality talent show, has been endorsed by Queen guitarist Brian May as the official tribute to do the Fandango to. And while you’ve probably heard "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" one too many times at the last several sporting events you’ve been to, those tunes take on a whole new light when heard live.

Find somebody to love Friday night at the Parker Playhouse, located at 707 NE 8th St. in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets range from $35 to $55. Get them at ticketmaster.com, or call 954-462-0222.
