Throughout the calendar year, ArtServe uses its facility (1350 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale) to showcase artists of all sorts from within our community and beyond. Once a year, though, it puts on “The Holiday Member Showcase,” which features only the work of the dedicated artists who have paid their annual ArtServe membership dues. “It’s our way of giving back to the members,” says ArtServe’s curator, Vee Corallo. “It gives them the opportunity to say ,‘Here I am.’ ”

This year, says Corallo, in addition to regulars like sculptor Torche, abstract painter Frank Crowley, and many fine jewelry artists, lots of new members, whom she describes as “strong, powerful painters,” will be showcased. The show runs until January 7.
Thu., Dec. 9, 6 p.m.; Mondays-Fridays, 9 a.m. Starts: Dec. 9. Continues through Jan. 7, 2010
