Support the independent voice of South Florida and help keep the future of New Times free.

Does sitting around a Douglas fir, sipping mulled wine, and waiting for Saint Nick to come sliding down the chimney sound like a North Pole-sized bore? Blue Martini in Boca Raton is hosting an alternative to a quiet Christmas Eve at home: TheEveBall.com. The restaurant, known for a bar stocked with hot girls and girly drinks, will celebrate the holidays with a rager complete with dancing, drinking, and dining into the wee hours of Christmas morning. The dress code for this 21-and-older affair is cocktail attire, so leave the footed jammies at home with the kids. TheEveBall.com takes place from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. this Monday at Blue Martini, 6000 Glades Road, Boca Raton. Cover is $20 -- cash only -- at the door. Admission includes one cocktail and appetizers from 8 to 10. Call 561-910-2583, or visit theeveball.com.

Keep New Times Broward-Palm Beach Free... Since we started New Times Broward-Palm Beach, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of South Florida, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering South Florida with no paywalls.
