Still Dancing On the Ceiling

These days, R&B singer and songwriter Lionel Richie might be best known for being Nicole Richie’s dad, but those over 30 will remember the string of hits he either wrote, co-wrote, or recorded since the late 1970s, including “Truly,” “All Night Long,” “Say You, Say Me” (which earned him an Oscar in 1986), “Lady,” and “I’m Easy,” the latter having been one of the first hits he penned during his time with the Commodores. Another memorable tune of his is “We Are The World,” written with Michael Jackson.

Richie continues to tour and record regularly, and even though he has not really gotten much attention stateside in recent years, he has done well in Europe and especially in the Middle East, where he has become a pop phenomenon of sorts - which prompted him to appear in places like Dubai, Morocco and Libya. Show starts tonight at at Hard Rock Live, 1 Seminole Way in Hollywood. Tickets cost $60 to $150. Call 800-937-0010, or visit seminolehardrockhollywood.com.
