The Birth of an American Sound: The Blues

The Birth of an American Sound: The Blues is a fundraising event for literacy and Black History Month. It is sponsored by The Friends of the Jan Moran Collier City Learning Library, The Friends of Northwest Regional Library, and the Florida Literacy Coalition in partnership with Southwest Airlines. Everyone is welcome to attend, enjoy a delicious soul food dinner and tap toes to the beat and song of the Joey Gilmore Band. Joey Gilmore musical talents are among the best in the United States. He dazzles the audience with his high energy and belts out soul-blues songs while he strums his guitar. His career has spanned 40 years with performances throughout the United States and Europe. Joey has shared the stage with James Brown, Etta James, Bobby Bland, Little Milton, Johnny Taylor and many more.
