An artist sees the world beyond the simplicity of nature, but sometimes the simplicity in nature is what principally draws the artist to create. The world is one's oyster, except, for the artist, it is the paint for one's canvas. Join members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities on Saturday as they celebrate this month's Flagler Arts Technology District Art Walk with its "Beyond Sexuality" exhibit. Spice up your life and go beyond a conventional date night with not only art but human nature. The exhibit showcases individual artists' perceptions about their own sexuality and their relationships to society. "Beyond Sexuality" is displayed in the World and Eye Arts Center, a gallery manifested by artist and director Jean Minuchin, who welcomes a variety of media and hosts exhibitions, workshops, and performances that address social issues and the arts. "Beyond Sexuality" focuses on a broader array of questions being expressed by LGBT artists, and you can't help but ponder the meaning behind the art. You also don't want to miss the amazing FAT Village Art Walk, which occurs on the last Saturday of every month and consists of five blocks full of quality works, food trucks, and excitement in Fort Lauderdale. The event is from 7 to 11 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The art walk is located between NW Fifth and NW Sixth streets and along NW First Avenue. The World and Eye Arts Center is located at 109 NW Fifth St. Visit fatvillage.com or worldandeye.com. Or call the World and Eye Arts Center at 954-540-9897.
