Garlic Festival

1 of 35
Now heading into its 9th year, the Delray Beach Garlic Fest continues to offer garlic fans the opportunity to celebrate the most widely used and loved food in the world…GARLIC… and the tradition of some of the greatest national act entertainment in downtown Delray Beach at our Main Stage. In 2005, the Food Network covered the Garlic Chef Competition at the Garlic Chef Stadium as part of their 'Unwrapped' series that starts airing in Summer 2006. Also at the Garlic Stadium is the Professional Chef Recipe Contest where local chefs create their finest garlic-laced creations. Go to Competitors & Judges to learn more. New at the Garlic Chef Stadium this year was the Firefighter's BBQ Competition where things got smokin', hot and spicy. The Stadium also features demonstrations by sponsors Italian Rose Garlic Products and Viking/HADCO. The celebration of food continues in Gourmet Alley. Modeled after the original Garlic Festival in Gilroy, California, this area features unique garlic inspired dishes including the crowd favorite-Flaming Scampi. You'll also want to spend some relaxing time at the Garlic Oasis Bar or at the Cloves & Vine Wine Garden. At Garlic University learn all about garlic and enjoy fun garlic activities. The Children's Area is packed with educational and recreational activities. And if you need more, visit the Merchandise/Vendor Area for Fest inspired items including cookbooks, posters and T-shirts. With over 120 vendors, it's the perfect place to browse and shop. Despite Hurricane Wilma's arrival just 2-1/2 weeks before the 2005 Garlic Fest, and thanks to the efforts of the City of Delray Beach, the Fest not only went on without a hitch but set records for attendance and money raised for local non-profits. However, the Delray Beach Garlic Fest has moved to the February dates to avoid any future disruption from our unpredictable hurricane season. The dates have changed but not the fun!
