On Valentine's Day one year ago, 14 students and three teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, were massacred in what's become an all-too-common occurrence in the United States. The students have refused to forever remain labeled as victims of gun violence by standing up to politicians and online trolls alike to say enough. On the anniversary, the City of Parkland hosted a commemoration for the lives lost that day and the scars that still remain in the community. Gov. Ron DeSantis and Rep. Ted Deutch, along with the families of the victims of the Parkland shooting, attended the ceremony.
