With Labor day coming up in a couple weeks, this is the official end of summer for most of the country. Time to put away the bathing suits and sunscreen and get back to work. Here in South Florida though, the sweltering, thick heat will continue until October or so. And, we never really have to put away the sunscreen, or say goodbye to summer. Or get back to work, if we're being honest.

Despite this being the slowest part of the year for us in terms of nightlife and live music, there is still a whole world of great music being released every day, and I want to share some of my favorite tracks to play out this month.

The Knocks re-released their single, “Classic” with Fetty Wap, the man behind this summer’s enormous smash “Trap Queen.” Le Boeuf from Norway remixed Lucy Pearl’s “Don’t Mess With My Man” into a funky, sax driven perfection. Newcomer producer TKDJS teamed up with angelic vocalist Ayer for the lush, UK garage influenced “Don’t Leave.”

Felix Jaehn (who remixed the official version of “Cheerleader” that you’ve been singing along to all summer) scored a major hit by remaking Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody” into tropical house with singer Jasmine Thompson. Just another example of this year’s trend of artists remaking old songs instead of writing something new.
