Lake Worth blogger Lynn Anderson has reported that slain Nova cancer researcher Joseph Morrissey was a Lake Worth high alumnus who graduated in 1981.

Anderson quotes from Morrissey's yearbook profile that his ambition was to "get rich quick and spend a lot of money." She also notes that the 46-year-old pharmacy prof was on the Lake Worth High swim team all four years.

Information released today confirms that Morrissey, who was murdered during a home invasion on Tuesday, was stabbed, not shot, as previously reported. Bob Norman's account of the suspect's takedown by a SWAT team at the Beverly Hills Cafe in Plantation is here.
