They're not letting any hops grow under their feet at the new Racks Downtown Eatery + Tavern in Mizner Park.

Come Tuesday, August 3, the sleek modern American bistro will offer its first beer-food pairing dinner, with top toque Matthew Danaher dishing five courses to go along with a quartet of artisan suds from Victory Brewing Co. of Pennsylvania.

On the menu will be seared tuna sliders with peanut-cilantro slaw and sesame aioli, paired with Victory's Sunrise Weiss; arugula with Florida blue cheese, walnuts, pickled red onions, and white balsamic vinaigrette with European-style pilsner Prima Pils; seared salmon with Neuske smoked bacon, whitewater clam vinaigrette, and crush potatoes with the potent (6.7 percent alcohol) Hop Devil; fried chicken and waffles with spicy maple syrup and macadamia nut butter with the even more potent (9.1 percent alcohol) Storm King Stout; and cookies 'n' milk for dessert.

Cost of the dinner, which runs from 8 to 10 p.m., is $35 per person. You'll need to make rezzies, so email [email protected], or call 561-750-3500.
