Are You Ready For Some Futbol?

Whether you are into “pass the passion on” or just looking at some fine specimens of man candy, this Friday, join our Fort Lauderdale Strikers for their second fall home game against the Carolina Railhawks. As part of the North American Soccer League, professional stadium soccer has come to Fort Lauderdale, and it’s game on. Last season, the Strikers took on the Railhawks twice, resulting in a late-game loss on the road and a draw at home. With a home-field advantage and a stadium full of red and yellow supporters, the team can succeed in sending the Hawks home with a loss. The Strikers have played under many names and in many locales in South Florida since 1972, but in their four decades, they have developed quite a following. In 2010, the team was rebranded as the Strikers and joined the NASL. Coach Daryl Shore led the team to finish its season in fourth place, qualifying for the playoffs and finishing as runners-up.
