Chasing Down Your Lunch

Does anyone really need a reason to hunt down a herd of gourmet food trucks, aside from an insatiable craving for hand-dipped gelato pops or overstuffed fish tacos? In case you're the sort who needs extra motivation, it may help to know that Saturday's Festival Flea Market Food Truck Rally in Pompano Beach will benefit the nonprofit Broward Outreach Centers. The rally, presented every other Saturday by a Moveable Feast Food Truck Events, will feature 20 trucks. Slated to appear are HipPops, Fry Daddy, Go Moto, On the Slide, the Weenie Wagon, Taco Fresh, Guiseppe's Italian Sausage, and Philly Grill, among others. There will be plenty of seating, and a DJ will be on hand spinning popular tunes. There are also plans for some prize giveaways, and attendees will each receive a $10 coupon to go shopping in the flea market. The event is 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Festival Flea Market, located at 2900 W. Sample Road in Pompano Beach. There is no admission charge, and parking is free, but bring cash for the trucks.
