Dumpstaphunk is going to dump tha Big Easy funk by closing out the B.E. Easy Music and Arts Festival this Saturday. As the headlining performer of the event, the quintet will bring songs from the 2013 release Dirty Word to the swaying palms of Fort Lauderdale Beach. The event is being hosted to celebrate Ben Evans (B.E.), a huge-hearted man who lost his battle with addiction. The proceeds from the day will benefit the B.E. Easy Scholarship Fund. The mission of the group is to bring addiction awareness to everyone through open dialogue to save lives. There will be a booth set up for information on the nonprofit fund and several counselors onsite to provide guidance. The family-friendly festival includes two stages of easy and funk music for grooving to. Also, food, art, and other handmade goods will be available. In addition to the performance by Dumpstaphunk, join the Resolvers, the Funky Nuggets, Ancient Sun, Short Straw Pickers, Thunder Cookie, Lucky Costello, Charlie Dandelion, Displace, and Uproot Hootenanny in the cause. All of the bands share the New Orleans funk styles once enjoyed by Evans.
