With mercury rising to record-breaking temps lately, clubs pushing cramped and sweaty parties may have met their match in a mass of tired, weary, and downright dehydrated club goers. While the cover charge will get you little more than sweat stains and runny makeup elsewhere, there is one place heeding the call for a break from the heat.

Take notice at the ongoing, gay pool party Splash at Exit 66. Guests check in with one of the cabana boys and get ready for a day of drinks, dancing, and vitamin D each Sunday.

Today, Splash will celebrate Independence Day one day late during the Alegria party. A poolside dance will run from 4 p.m. until sundown with DJ Tracy Young, followed by Abel in the main room. Find Exit 66 at 219 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $40 in advance, or $60 at the door. Call 954-357-9981, or visit www.exitsixtysix.com.
Sundays, 4 p.m. Starts: July 5. Continues through Dec. 5, 2009
