Filling the hole left by the closing of O'Hara's on Las Olas, Blue Jean Blues brings a piece of upscale New Orleans to Fort Lauderdale. The happy hour, which is from the time the doors open until 7 p.m., is a good deal whether you're here pregaming, waiting for the music, or just having a pleasant lunch or early dinner. Blue Jean manages to be both a sophisticated and casual place to unwind.

Blues and jazz artists grace the swanky stage in front of the dance floor every night of the week. But since that all happens after happy hour, you after-work drinkers will have to content yourselves with the elegant décor and Big Easy vibe. It's tucked into the shopping plaza near Oakland Park Boulevard and the beach that's designed in the pre-automobile style with residences upstairs and commercial spaces downstairs. So enjoy the calm breeze on the patio or go inside and luxuriate amid the aforementioned décor (brick walls, tin ceiling tiles, and an assortment of finely crafted fixtures).
