Fight night in South Florida should be more than just a boxing match. It should include more than just padded fists, like grappling, submissions, and chokeholds. At the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, fight night is a mixed martial arts extravaganza with the World Series of Fighting 8 on Saturday. The featured fight will be a matchup between Americans Justin Gaethje (10-0-0), a lightweight; and welterweight Richard Patishnock (6-1-0). But that isn't the only fight you should be keeping an eye on. The WSOF8 will also feature a bout between Texan fighters Jessica "Jag" Aguilar and Alida Gray. Aguilar, a strawweight, holds a record of 16-4, with seven submissions and two knockouts. Strawweight Gray remains undefeated at 4-0 with three knockouts and one submission. Also on the card are several local fighters, including Boca Raton heavyweight Anthony Johnson (15-4-0), Miami welterweights Valdir Araujo (14-4-0) and Jose Caceres (6-4-0), and Miami bantamweight Alexis Vila (13-4-0). Get your fight on. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the show starts at 6. Ticket cost $33 to $243. The Hard Rock is located at 1 Seminole Way in Hollywood. Call 954-797-5531.
